Roxas City is the capital of Capiz Province. It claims to be the seafood capital of the Philippines although some people tend to object to the idea. It is, however, one of the gateways to the world renowned Boracay. In case you'd find it hard to fly to Caticlan or Kalibo en route to Boracay, this is an alternative way to do it.
Although both Cebu Pacific Airways and Philippine Airlines fly to Roxas, Cebu Pacific only flies to the city 3 times a week. PAL, however, flies to and fro daily. The disadvantage of the PAL flight though is that its flights are scheduled very early in the morning. From Roxas, it takes off at 6:30 a.m. Cebu Pacific flights from Manila leave at about 11:30 am and from Roxas at about 10 am.
There are some attractions in Roxas City like the caves and the beach. The beach has fine sand but is not white. If you are going to Boracay though, Roxas is 2 hours away by bus.
